The journey to enrich this site with handbags never ceases. So now the spotlight has been turned to a decent collectable vintage label, Ingber.
Ingber & Co was founded by brothers David and Isaac Ingber in Philadelphia in 1903. What set Ingber apart from the other handbag manufacturers was their quality and unique touches. So successful were Ingber’s bags that their bags appeared in films like ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. However, once the tide of fashion turned away from velvet bags to more structured leather based styles. Ingber was unable to keep up and sadly they ceased trading in 1966.
Thanks to the revival of retro style, Ingber has enjoyed a nice comeback amongst vintage devotees.
